Another One Done
I don't know what this quilt pattern is called. It's made up of 2 1/2" X 4 1/2" rectangles.
Last spring I unearthed some blocks I had started eons ago and decided complete the project. There are always exciting discoveries to be made when one digs deep enough into the storage bins.
I constructed a "poor man's" quilt backing out of strips of various fabrics and some leftover orphan blocks. If I bought wide backing fabric for every quilt, I'd be in the poorhouse.
Since the colours seemed to have a 70s vibe, I quilted it with large freehand funky flowers.
The other day, we installed some casters on my longarm frame. Now I'll be able to shove it against the wall when I'm not using it. The longarm is in the kitchen, that's the only place there was to put it. In my next life, I'll have a deluxe quilting studio. :)

Twinkling Stars By Linda H.
Linda created "Twinkling Stars" quite a few months ago. Random sizes of flip and sew triangles make up the pattern. The white background makes the design really stand out.
The backing is interesting because it has a row of pieced star blocks along one side. That's a clever way of adding size when there's not enough backing fabric to work with. Necessity is the mother of invention. It adds to the overall loveliness of the quilt.

Twenty Years In The Making
I finished this quilt in the spring, today was a good day for some photos. I couldn't get the fold lines out of it, maybe I should have put it in the dryer for a few minutes.
This quilt started out as a block exchange from an internet group called "Quilters Funtalk". We made blocks to celebrate being together as a group for five years. That was in 2002. Since then, some of the members have passed away, so it makes an extra special keepsake to remember them.
When I purchased my longarm machine in April, I decided it was time to get this quilt finished. I had saved the wide backing fabric for this project for the past 20 years.
I wasn't sure if the all-over quilting would interfere with the signatures, but it seems to be fine, everything is readable.
It feels good to finally finish something that had been sitting around for the past two decades. :)

Back In The Saddle Again
After being away from home since May, I'm back at the machine again.
It took me most of the day to get this quilt loaded on the frame. It's like learning the whole thing all over again.
I got the longarm in April and did four quilts before I went on vacation. After completing quite a few more, it should be easier to remember all of the steps, I hope.

Tipsy Baskets By Linda H.
Linda made a delightful quilt using the "Tipsy Baskets" block pattern by Kim Brackett in Scrap-Basket Sensations. The braided border finishes it off nicely.
