The Eye Blistering Log Cabin Quilt Is Completed
I wanted to make a Log Cabin quilt that had no divide between lights and darks like most of them have. So I started making blocks and the colours kept getting brighter with each one.
When it was time to quilt it, I threw caution to the wind and used the colour "Kryptonite" by Glide Thread.
It had to have an equally bold backing, so I used a wild looking one that came from Connecting Threads.
That still wasn't enough, it had to be finished off with a lime green binding. Marge helped while I was hand stitching.
It's not a quilt for the faint of heart. :)

Rail Fence Quilt Is Completed
This quilt looks like a type of Rail Fence pattern. I saw a picture somewhere on the internet, so I made one like it.
I made a scrappy binding and what I call a "poor man's quilt backing". It's a good way to use up odds and ends of fabric. I find the yellowish and beige prints are difficult to use in a quilt top, but they work great for the back.
It's free-motion quilted with Glide thread.
There was a pucker in the backing after it was quilted, so I covered it with a sunflower block, in honour of Ukraine. I guess that must be my humility block. :)

Scrappy Irish Chain Is Completed
Formerly known as "Quilt Top #24", this Irish Chain quilt is now finished.
The pattern came from Bonnie Hunter's book, "Adventures with Leaders and Enders".
It's made with a dark background because I wanted to use up a large piece of Moda fabric that was in my stash. The quilting is horizontal and vertical wavy lines. Usually, Irish Chain quilts have a fancy design quilted in the open areas, but I didn't think that would show up on the busy print. Some of the squares feature a fussy cut image.
Linda H gifted me with the backing fabric a few years ago, which I really like. I won't be giving this quilt away. I work my fingers to the bone so the cat can have a tower of folded up handmade quilts to sleep on. :)

A New Cone Holder- Yay!
I just got this thread stand from Amazon for my cones of Glide thread. The thread had been stored in a big basket, but it was a nuisance to dig through to select the right colour. It can sit on a table or be attached to a wall.
The stand is made by Sew Tech. It had to be assembled, but that was no problem.
If my Glide thread addiction gets any worse, I'll have to buy a second storage unit.
