Throwback Thursday; A Few More Items From The Time Capsule
Here are two more items from the Rubbermaid bin of items that Mom saved when I was a kid. Old Maid game- I played that for hours with my friends. A fifty-year-old handkerchief. Times were a lot simpler and way less wasteful back then.

Throwback Thursday; Corking Spool
This was another item that was in the "time capsule" that Mom put away for me. I did miles of tube knitting on this wooden corking spool. These days, it's referred to as spool knitting.

Quilt Top #19 With Another Border
I came to the conclusion that the quilt top was a bit too small. I added another border to it, now it'll be better size for a single bed. This picture also gives a nice view of my ugly living room carpet, haha!

Quilt Top #19
I just sewed the borders on this quilt top, of course, Igor the cat has to inspect every project. When it's finished, I'm going to give it to a friend in the Yukon, who has no running water or plumbing. I made it with dark colours in case he doesn't get to the laundromat very often. :)

Throwback Thursday; Knitting For Barbie
When I was twelve, I made Barbie clothes and sold them in a store. I knitted sweaters, crocheted hats and sewed pants and skirts. I attached each outfit to card stock, then wrapped it in plastic wrap. Every package sold and I became "rich", I think the maximum I charged was $3.00 per set. :) I never told my friends at school what I did because I was embarrassed, they might think I still played with dolls, haha! This was the pattern book I used for the knitted sweaters and dresses.

Throwback Thursday: Tatting Shuttle
This 47-year-old tatting shuttle came out of the "time capsule" that Mom saved for me. I tried many times to learn to tat, but never could figure it out. Mom had a "Learn How" book that gave instructions for crochet, knitting, embroidery and tatting. I studied that book and tried numerous times but decided to give up on tatting. I was surprised to find the shuttle in the Rubbermaid bin.

Day Three of March 2017 Quilting Retreat
I made some progress on the "Scrappy Chains" blocks, only 99 more to go. Today I did more yakking and eating than sewing. :)

Throwback Thursday; 48 Year Old Purse
I was sorting through some Rubbermaid bins and came across one that had items that Mom saved when I was a kid. I designed and made this crocheted purse when I was about 10. It has a sewn in lining with a concealed cardboard circle base to give it shape. Next week I'll show some of the other artifacts from the time capsule. :)
