Vacation Time 2017
I'm getting ready to go to my summer cabin in the Yukon. Here are some of the things I'm planning to do: reading, appliqueing the never ending flower quilt blocks, crocheting a dishcloth or two, and finishing an incredibly ugly Corner to Corner afghan. I was using leftover yarn, it didn't turn out like I thought it would. It might end up being a car blanket. I made a sock last summer, I'll make the other one this year.

Igor In The Scrap Bin
Linda H, Audrey and I are having a mini sewing retreat at my house. Igor is right in the middle of things, weighing down the fabric in the scrap bin.

Microwave Hot Bowl Holders
Linda H and Audrey are here visiting for a few days, we are having a great time eating, sewing and digging through fabric bins. Audrey showed us how to make these reversible microwave hot bowl holders. They can stay on the bowl while heating, then no fingers will get burned when the hot food is taken out.

Comfort Quilt in Progress
This is a comfort quilt I'm working on, it still needs a border. We need some quilts for boys and men in our guild's comfort quilt stockpile, we have quite a few for ladies and girls. I tried to think of something that wouldn't take too long to make, so I came up with this idea. I dug through my stash of novelty fabrics and used a different one for each block. After this one is finished, I'll find some fabric for a man's quilt.

A Fair Trade
Linda H made this quilt top a few months ago. One of the ladies in her quilting group loved it and kept commenting about it. Linda had an idea for a trade- the quilt top for hand binding on two queen size quilts. The woman agreed and is now the happy owner of the top. Linda had the queen size quilts at the binding stage for ages, but her hands get sore doing the stitching, so she kept putting it off. Coming soon- pictures of Linda's completed quilts. :)
